First and foremost, we want to (once again) wish you lots of joy with your unique bobini roots / root to rise piece! Your jewelry will become an extension of you, and naturally, it will start to "live" with you. Over time, the finish may change slightly, and unfortunately, small scratches are unavoidable. But don’t worry—there are ways to take extra good care of your jewelry!

How do you keep it looking as beautiful as possible? Here are our top tips:

1. Always take off your ring when working out—or doing heavy work like gardening or DIY projects. Not only is this safer, but it also prevents unnecessary scratches.

2. Rings with stones, especially those with a prong setting (a setting with small claws), are best taken off at night.

3. For rings with gemstones or prong settings, it’s also a good idea to remove them whenever there’s a high chance of repeated impact (like washing dishes). This helps protect both the stone and the prongs.

4. Every once in a while, it's wise to have the prongs of your prong setting checked. We can do this for you—just let us know in advance! If we're not nearby, you can also pop into a local goldsmith and ask them to take a quick look with a loupe. These are just precautionary measures. If you ever notice something unusual with the naked eye, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

5. You can wash your hands and shower with our diamond rings. However, if your ring has a gemstone, we recommend taking it off when showering. If you remember, it's nice to take it off when washing your hands, but it’s not a disaster if you leave it on. Never swim (in a pool or the sea) with your jewelry on.

6. Gemstones are softer than diamonds, so they require a little extra care to prevent wear. Handle them carefully to keep them looking their best.

7. Got some dirt under your diamonds? You can gently clean your ring with a soft or old (electric) toothbrush. Use a tiny bit of natural soap (like green soap) or baking soda mixed with lukewarm water, and gently brush the stone. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.

8. You can use our polishing cloth to give (the rest of) your jewelry a little shine whenever needed.

9. When you're not wearing your jewelry, store it in its original box (or another safe place) to keep it protected and avoid misplacing it.

10. Avoid contact with beauty and hair products to prevent dirt buildup in small openings.

By following these simple tips, your jewelry will stay beautiful for years to come!

If you’ve landed on this page, chances are your unique handmade piece has arrived! We’re so happy you’re taking the time to read about how to keep your jewelry looking its best.

how to care
for your jewelry piece

Take your jewelry off at night, while working out, during heavy work & garderning and when you are planning to go on an adventure.

Take it off

It's okay to wash your hands but it's best to take it off while taking a shower & definitely when swimming (sea or pool).

No (hot) water

Prevent it from contact with beauty and hair products in order to avoid dirt to accumulate in the tiny openings.

Keep it shiny

Only clean it with (our) polishing cloth and/or a very soft brush, soft detergent and semi warm water. Genlty dry with soft cloth.

Clean

With some settings, for example the prong setting, a yearly check-up with a loupe is recommended to ensure all prongs are still solid.

Check double check

Make sure to avoid your gemstone from tapping against a hard surface. For example; while cleaning your house or doing dishes.

Gemstone care

When you take off your jewelry, store it in the box that is provided at purchase.

Store it safely

If you'd like to have your jewelry polished at some point, we can do that for you by appointment at our atelier. If applicable, we can also check the settings while we're at it. Just reach out to schedule a time with us in advance.

And now… time to enjoy your beautiful piece! Wishing you lots of joy with it!

Some of our designs are made or can be made in 925. silver. Silver is a metal which requires little to no care when worn regularly. However, if the jewelry hasn’t been worn for a longer period of time, the material will oxidize and gets its famous dark layer. If you want to bring the material back to it’s original bright state, you can polish your piece of jewelry with our cleaning cloth or home polish kit. If you don’t wear your jewelry for a longer period of time, store your jewelry in an air tight box.

Silver

37.5% pure gold, 62.5% other materials such as silver and copper

Is officially not to be labeled as gold but is a very beautiful alternative for the pricier 14k gold pieces – especially the heavier ones. It lasts a lifetime, just as 14k gold, but may need to be cleaned with a polishing cloth every now and then to keep it’s original tone and shine. Only available in a yellow tone.

9k Gold

58.5% pure gold, 41.5% other materials such as silver and copper

Is officially to be called gold, does not tarnish and our 14k pieces can be made in two tones of yellow gold, white- and rose gold. 14k gold is the hardest alloy of all karat options. Lasts a lifetime, perfect to pass on to next generations.
FYI: 18 karat can also be requested for most of our designs.
